IMHO, Clapton only really excelled with Bruce and Baker, and the complexity and energy of the jams, are truly astounding. You have to get the fall 67 stuff to appreciate it, but that trio, with EC as the weak link, showed something with the blues (and a bit more--really) that no one could match. And I say weak link in the most positive fashion possible.

But yeah, anything other than those couple of years, and he leaves me flat. I know he's technically good, but it does nothing for me...for those few shining moments, though, it was truly unreal. As you've read here, there wasn't a person that experienced it, musical talent or total amateur, that didn't come away with the same mind-blown take on CREAM.

As I have indicated now and again (har, har...getting bored?), of course; this just gives me an opportunity to remind JOTS of this fact...

Heh, heh, heh. The way rdeniro[] came out of the gate defending EC, I thought maybe you had changed your handle, Prime Minister Tell.

I see you survived the summer—good.

I've been spinning my Cream of latte; thanks again.
